I understand Frankenstein

Growing up, I never understood why people were so obsessed with Frankenstein. The movies didn’t seem appealing to me, nor the modern adaptations of him. It wasn’t until I finally read the book written by Mary Shelley that I became a believer.

-First of all: The background story of Shelley is amazing. She wrote the story under a promise to create a scary story with her colleagues and significant other.

-Second: The story is amazing. A sufficient amount of details, a personable perspective to the monster as well as the creator of him, and a plot that has the reader glued! It inspired me to pick up Dracula to see if Bram Stoker is as impressive.

I wont read his book with a comparison in mind, but I will read it with high hopes that I will fall further victim to the vampire realm.

To end this post:

Please, read Frankenstein if you are a writer or reader of any level. There are modern adaptations to help with the language but I am going to passively seek out an older version of the book to keep as a collectible and compare the adaptations.

Hello, Ive been away

The Past

I havent been posting and I apologize.

I built connections with people unkowingly but assumed that my words and thoughts didnt matter to an algorithm based platform.

I have continued writing and am working on a new story that I hope I can call a book one day.

Unfortunately, life has pushed me into a corner where I have to prioritze monetizing my work. I dedicate so much of my time and energy into my writing that it leaves me too exhausted to actually try to be a respectable employee in this society.

The Present

I am commiting to making this story my best with colorful details and precision of words that paint the largest of murals in any reader’s mind.

I ask you to join me in this journey.

I am committed to writing a chapter a week while also taking the time to find the best method to monetize my work without hurting the wallets of the people that support me.

The Future

I do ask that you consider my stories and poetry like your favorite cartoons, shows, and coffee. In other words, if I have provided value to your life in any shape or form, I do ask that you take this step with me in creating a future filled with more works of art that touch the soul. I feel as though I reach inside my own to create everything I’ve created thus far.

Mastery

Born genius? Luck? Divine intuition?

The answer is no, instead, it is the sheer willpower to excel that defines mastery. Filled with examples of great triumphs from history as well as failures, this well written and organized piece by Robert Greene greatly describes the grit required to achieve anything we dream.

The final chapter in this book, “Reversal” describes the root cause for failure in our feats:

” The reversal to mastery is to deny its existence or its importance, and therefore the need to strive for it in any way.” – Robert Greene

This statement impacted me deeply. It attacked the negative thoughts of my youth screaming that I am not worthy and it’s destiny for someone to be great. This book helped me realize my confidence in the activities that dictate my happiness. In the past, I was convinced that these activities are a waste of time, per the words of the people around me. Now, I understand that they are essential for my understanding of my role in life and how I can make a difference or participate with the world in a greater way.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for guidance in life. A direction or a sign telling them what is right or where to move forward. A very easy and informative read with plenty of examples that are relatable thanks to the explanations of Greene.
